ABOUT ME
Well hello there. I’m Danette. Happy grandma. Slightly rebellious old hippy. Alternative health practitioner. Artist with paint on my hands and sparkle in my soul and tangles of yarn. . I believe laughter is the best medicine, rules are optional, creativity keeps you young, and a good margarita (or bold glass of wine) fixes almost everything. I mix art, energy, wisdom, and a little harmless mischief — because growing older is mandatory… growing boring is not. Welcome to my colorful corner of the world. Let’s make some magic.

"See Me" is absolutely breathtaking! I am completely in love with this photo! The close-up of the horse's eye is so powerful , and it feels like the soul of the animal is right there in the room with me. The quality of the paper is phenomenal. I was also blown away by how fast it arrived-it got to me more quicker than I expected. I'm already scouting out more of your work to add to my collection. Thank you for such an amazing piece!

Danette caught the spirit of these beautiful horses… she captured their intelligence, beauty and spirit… I bought the canvas wall art, mug, notebooks and bag… such a talented photographer!

Danette Steele is one of the most remarkable photographers working today. Her images don’t just capture the beauty of the world—they convey the emotion and atmosphere within it. It’s rare to find a photographer who can present such compelling subject matter while also revealing the deeper feeling behind the moment.
Danette’s talent was nurtured by her father, himself a world-renowned photographer, and that legacy of artistry clearly lives on in her work. Each photograph feels thoughtful, evocative, and beautifully composed.
Her work is truly special, and every piece I’ve purchased—there have been many—has become a treasured possession in my home. I’m proud to support her and continually inspired by the way she sees the world.
I’m based in Colorado, but I am currently a gypsy moving between New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Colorado.
I'm drawn to the places where time leaves its mark but life keeps quietly going - rusted trucks in blooming daisies, lanterns still hanging on weathered cabins, wildflowers pushing through stone.
My work lives in that meeting point between worn, human-made objects and small insignificant signs of life.
Through careful attention to texture, light, and stillness, I try to show resilience not as a grand gesture, but as the everyday way the world holds on and begins again.
Contact me and we will start a conversation on what you are hoping to do, where you want to hang the work, what size would work best for your situation.
Once we know the size and frame (if any) I will prepare an invoice via Square and prepare the art to be sent to you.
I had been uploading images to Fine Art America for the last few years. So there is still quite a bit of art there.
Otherwise at this time the only other places that I currently have artwork is the Mena Art Gallery in Mena AR and Ashleigh Christie's in Meeker CO.
